Detailed Physical Description (include build, fur length, and any scars):
Aster is a long haired gray tabby with thick, darker stripes trailing across his body. His underbelly and the toes on his right paw are a lighter yellowish gray and he has blue-gray tinted fur around his cheek fur and "eyebrows." He has a pretty average height and build for a tom-cat his age, not too thin, not too muscular, and not too chubby (though he does have slight chub on his belly). His fur is considerably soft, becoming more feathery near his belly and the underside of his tail. He has deep yellow eyes that have a darker ring around the pupil.

Personality
(+ = positive | – = negative | / = neutral)
*These might change over time!*
(+) Compassionate - Aster is really nice and sympathetic to others and tries to understand what they are going through so he can help.
(+) Determined - Like his sister, Aster plans to see plans and decisions through once he makes them.
(+) Loving - Aster loves just about anyone he knows well, and since Aster has such a nice personality, others can't help but love him back. Sometimes it can get annoying, but not much.
(+) Loyal - Aster is very loyal to his "clan" and his friends and family, willing to stand beside them and risk his life for them whenever possible.
(+) Versatile - Aster is very adaptable and can easily change from doing one thing to another if thrown into the position of having to do so.
(+) Earnest - Even though Aster is mainly controlled by his optimistic, energetic, childlike behavior he does know when it's time to stop and be serious.
(/) Overly Optimistic - Aster has a vision that the three groups living in the valley can work together, or at least stop fighting. He heavily believes in this idea and is confident that this will indeed happen. He argues with Downy a lot about this as she believes that the three groups cannot live peacefully together. He is also just an optimistic cat and general and tries to see good in everything. Though this is good, it often leads Aster to ignore the obvious bad things and he often gets hurt because of it. His optimism also leads to his childish naïveté.
(/) Merciful - Aster is a very moral cat, and believes in a part of the warrior code (something vaguely explained to him by his mother and father) that says when a cat is defeated in battle (as in they can no longer fight) he should let them go, not kill them. To some this is seen as noble, to others this is seen as weakness.
(/) Dreamy - When Aster is left alone with nothing to do, he is often seen staring off at nothing with a rather blank look in his eyes. Daydreaming like this often helps Aster relax, but it leaves him vulnerable as he doesn't pay attention to his surroundings. What he daydreams about, no one knows thoughitsprobbalyharrierstar
(/) Energetic - Aster has an unbelievable amount of energy. From the beginning of the day to the end and sometimes beyond into the night, Aster is just a bundle of bouncing fluffiness as he goes about his duties. If he is tasked with the graveyard shift (night watch) you can probably bet he will stay up all night long instead of switching shifts with someone else. While his boundless energy is helpful when takes need to be done around and outside of camp, it can sometimes be rather annoying.
(–) Childish - Aster still has kit-like tendencies, such as being distracted momentarily by a butterfly or a fluttering leaf or just having slight childish outbursts or arguments. This behavior influences his optimism and vice versa. Sometimes Aster forgets that he's an adult, and though it hasn't gotten him into any troubling situations whose to say it won't happen?
(–) Quite Forgetful - Aster has trouble remembering unimportant events that happened weeks even days ago. It's usually small stuff like conversations or what he ate, but sometimes its promises that he forgot he made with someone or a small task given to him. Aster has often forgotten to eat as well. This annoys some cats but those around him are used to it by now and only find some annoyance in reminding Aster if what's happened.
(–) Easily Infatuated - When Aster falls in love, he falls hard. It becomes easy for him to get distracted by the cat he's fallen for, and it usually affects his routine. He'll be plagued by daydreams and fantasies and he'll constantly think about them. During battles he performs poorly because he'll be constantly searching the crowd for his crush and worrying if they are hurt or worse. If the cat is from another group, fighting against them will ruin Aster and not fighting them will raise suspicion and those around him will question his loyalty. Getting over a crush is extremely hard for Aster, and he is usually seen pining over them when they aren't around. Hiding a crush is also extremely hard.
(–) Naive - Aster is naive in the fact that he believes that everything is going to turn out alright in the end. That he thinks that all the cats in the valley will get along and they can live peacefully with one another. Really, really deep down, Aster knows that his dreams most likely won't come true, but still he refuses to believe it and pushes on anyway.

Likes: Stargazing, looking at the sky, Harrierstar, his family and friends, being active, having something to do, the color blue, and climbing the Darkstones.

Dislikes: Water, forgetting things so easily, fighting cats he cares about, cold weather, killing other cats, hunting rabbits (they're so fast!!!), being bored, rainy, muggy days, and getting sick.

Talents: Climbing, hunting, really good with kits, getting work done, following orders, fighting and hiding (is often asked to help plan ambush attacks).

History
Kithood--> Aster is the first born kit to two Claws of Hope members named Turf and Brume. The two gray tabbies had been close friends since kithood, and when they both became two years old they decided that they wanted to start a family together. They were hoping for a larger first litter, but they loved their only fluff-ball of a son nonetheless and showered him with affection. When he first opened his eyes, the yellow orbs reminded the two of the centers of the aster flowers that grew in the meadows in the valley and named him thus. At first Aster was a pretty normal kit, learning to speak, sleeping beside Brume, and suckling, but that all changed when Turf returned smelling of the world outside the nursery walls. Soon Aster wanted nothing to do with the nursery and instead wanted to go outside and play and explore with the older kits, but Brume would not allow it until she believed he was old enough. After weeks of failed attempts at sneaking out and peering at the little bits of sunlight that slipped through the entrance, Brume roughly cleaned Aster's fur and finally led the rowdy, tireless kit to the outside world. It was scary at first, but soon Aster got used to the bigness of everything and set off to explore. The rest of his kithood was normal, playing with older kits, exploring the camp, sometimes going with Turf and/or Brume to explore outside the camp. Aster says his fav rogue memories from his kithood was Brume telling him stories about a time before their were three rogue groups within the valley, when they were all one. She then told him about the clan splitting off, and of the battles that followed soon after. This is when he started to dream about the cats within the valley living together peacefully, like before.
When Aster turned 6 moons, he began basic training.

Apprenticeship--> Aster, like all the cats within the Claws of Hope, was not assigned a mentor to train under but was instead taught by the whole group. His parents were a main influence in his training, and under Turf's guidance he became an effective hunter and with the help of Brume he became an excellent fighter. Throughout his training, Aster was involved with quite a few battles between ValleyClan and the Fangs of Inheritance and grew both respect, fear, and tad bit of dislike towards the other groups. Towards ValleyClan, he held fear because of their numbers, and towards the Fangs he held dislike because of how ruthless they were. Nonetheless he still showed some respect towards both. Though Aster received no scars in these battles, he still got injured. It was in his last battle as an "apprentice" (he was a year old) that he got his first good look at ValleyClan's current leader, Harrierstar, and fell head over paws for the enemy tom.

Warrior--> When Aster transitioned from an "apprentice" to a "warrior," nothing much changed except now he had more responsibilities and slept with the older cats rather than the trainees. Sometimes he would slip away whenever he had free time to try and see Harrierstar from across the border. Life was good, until just a few weeks after he turned two years it took a sad turn. Brume, during Aster's last few months of "apprenticeship," was once again pregnant and had moved back to the nursery. So far, the pregnancy was normal, and Aster wasn't really worried about his mother nor the kit(s) she was carrying. But one night, when Aster was walking back to camp after being force to switch shifts and go to sleep by a clanmate, he heard his mother yowling in pain from the nursery. Running towards his old den, he was kept from going inside by a couple of healers and council members. They explained to him that his mother was going into labor; the timing was right, but there are complications, and the healers are doing what they can. Wracked with worry and fear for his mother and unborn sibling(s), he paced around camp beside Turf without saying much of anything. Hours passed and soon the camp fell into eerie silence. Brume had stopped yowling. One of the healers stepped out of the nursery, blood staining their paws. They approached Turf and Aster, who gazed at the blood spattered healer with horror. With sadness they explained that the delivery had gone wrong. Brume had lost too much blood in the delivery of the first kit, a female, who came out stillborn. The second kit was proving to be even more difficult, coming out tail end first instead of head first. Brume was already weak from blood loss and was fading fast, barely able to push her second kit into the world before collapsing. The healers tried everything they could, but Brume slipped away.
Turf and Aster were beside themselves with sadness at this news, but their spirits were slightly lifted when they learned that the second kit, a female like the first, was still alive. She was being taken care of by Pollen, a yellow-furred she cat who had given birth two days before Brume. Brume and the stillborn kit were cleaned up and carefully carried out of the nursery so that Turf and Aster could begin their vigil. Upon seeing his dead mate, Turf let out a cry of anguish and buried his nose in her fur, sobbing quietly. Aster cried as well, burying his face into the fur of his mother and placing his paw gently on the body of his little sister.
The next morning, after burying Brume and the little she-cat (whom Aster was calling Breeze in his mind), the father and son went into the nursery to see the kit who was still alive. The second Aster laid eyes on her, he teared up again. She was a fluffy, light gray colored tabby whose stripes were only faintly showing. Turf just stared at his daughter, smiling with tears in his eyes. When Pollen asked the toms what the kit's name should be, Aster immediately responded with "Downy." Turf gave the name a thought and then nodded in agreement.
For the next few months, whenever he was off duty, Aster would visit Downy in the nursery alongside Turf and the two toms would shower the little she cat with affection. When she turned six moons old, Aster was more than happy to be the main cat to teach Downy her basic training. During her "apprenticeship" Downy had a growth spurt and soon grew a few inches taller than Aster (something she likes to boast about). Aster and Turf were proud of Downy when she transitioned from a trainee to a warrior, and it was Aster and Turf who called her name the loudest when she was chosen to be a member of the council.

Relationships

ValleyClan
Overall: Respects; Wary
Thoughts: Yeah, they did drive us from our original territory, but I think that we can work everything out and live peacefully with one another.

Harrierstar|Starry-W1shes|Admires; Crush; Wants to get to know them
Thoughts: Yeah, I know, I know. I shouldn't be in love with him but...there's just something about him that makes him impossible to forget.

The Claws of Hope
Overall: Neutral
Thoughts: This is my home, my family. I don't think I would be much of anything without them.

Brume|NPC|Dead; Family; Misses; Admires
Thoughts: I miss mom so much, though I know she's watching over me, dad, and Downy. I know she wants me to stay happy.

Turf|NPC|Family; Admires
Thoughts: Dad has always been there for me, I know mom's death must be hard on him too, but he's staying strong. He's such a good cat and he and mom taught me everything I know.

Downy|CraftingPokemon|Family; Respects; Platonic Love
Thoughts: I love my little sister. We argue a bit about certain things but I know she always has my back. I wish she wouldn't beat herself up over mom's death, though. It wasn't her fault.

Pollen|NPC|Respects
Thoughts: Without Pollen, Downy wouldn't be alive right now. She agreed to nurse Downy despite her not being her own, and I don't think I could ever thank her enough.

The Fangs of Inheritance
Overall: Cautious; Respects
Thoughts: We used to be apart of the same group right? They just have slightly different....more uh...bloody views. Hopefully we can live peacefully together.
